I love Middleton Place, so much history at that place. I hope to take my daughters there some day soon. That trip is on my bucket list. The famous Middleton Oak Tree creates a happy place for me.
MIDDLETON PLACE is a National Historic Landmark and a carefully preserved 18th-century plantation that has survived revolution, Civil War, and earthquake. It was the home of four important generations of Middleton’s, beginning with Henry Middleton, President of the First Continental Congress; Arthur, a signer of the Declaration of Independence; Henry, Governor of South Carolina and an American Minister to Russia; and Williams, a signer of the Ordinance of Secession.
Visitors are invited to tour the Gardens, the House Museum, and the Plantation Stable yards. Middleton Place, located on Ashley River Road (Highway 61), just 14 miles northwest of Charleston, South Carolina, is owned and operated by the Middleton Place Foundation, a non-profit 501(C)(3) educational trust.

We were married under the Middleton Oak tree in the spring of 1996.
“Our tree” would be perfect wall art in our bedroom in our retirement home.
Hello Judy, The Middleton Oak tree is a beautiful tree to get married under, wishing you many years of marriage bliss.
