From Camden to Afghanistan

From The Hood to Afghanistan

Older Post on Camden

Camden has been on my mind lately because of a Jon Stewart daily show which was very funny, in the show Stewart made a compassion of Camden NJ to Afghanistan which got me thinking, here a quote from the show what I learned from this, is that Jon Stewart is from New Jersey.

It actually looked a little bit like Camden, New Jersey, quite frankly? mused Stewart after a short video played of news legend Dan Rather traveling through an urban? Afghan neighborhood.

The Courier Post dug up some old and interesting photo of Camden which came from APP.com. Click on the App.com link for trip down memory lane.

The above photo is a photo I took from the Camden back in 2005.

Update 08-29-2021

Afghanistan is in the news today again, and what was funny is not funny anymore to me. Have we lost our sense of humor? Or is making fun of a tragedy ever been funny. The times have changed, and so has our sense of humor. Making fun of other cultures is a cheap shot.
I wonder if time changes our sense of humor? or is it our life experiences? The calendar is an abstract concept and has no impact on anything except our thoughts.
Laughter is good medicine and if only we can laugh at ourselves more often in my humble option.
So here’s a Joke,
Why did the photographer cross the road ? Fill in your on response on the punch line…
“It comes out from no source, it goes back in through no aperture. It has reality yet no place where it resides; it has duration yet no beginning or end. Something emerges, though through no aperture – this refers to the fact that it has reality. It has reality, yet there is no place where it resides – this refers to the dimension of space. It has duration but no beginning or end – this refers to the dimension of time. There is life, there is death, there is a coming out, there is a going back in – yet in the coming out and going back its form is never seen. This is called the Heavenly Gate. The Heavenly Gate is non being. The ten thousand things come forth from non being. Being cannot create being out of being; inevitably, it must come forth from non being. Non being is absolute non being, and it is here that the sage hides himself.”
– Chuang Tzu (c.369 B.C. – c.286 B.C.)
