An HDR image from Main Street in Lumberton NJ. I was trying to capture the feeling of this small town.
Lumberton or, as it was once known, Lumbertown, was a pioneer settlement. Its name came from the fact that Pine trees were abundant in the vicinity, and boats and rafts carried lumber and cord wood from the Rancocas Creek to Philadelphia and other places. There were two or three lumberyards and saw mills at one time. In 1683, Robert Dimsdale, an English physician, bought a tract of land from William Penn on the North side of the Rancocas Creek.

Great Apply Farm
I love to talk my kids to visit Jersey Jerry’s apple farm. It makes me sad that this wonder farm is gone, but not forgotten.

Great images of this cool little town! I love small towns! – Sharon
Hi Sharon, thanks for the comments, I wonder how many other people love the small town vibe. What is that vibe?
Charleston had that vibe for me in 2006 when I lived there. Not sure if it’s the same today.
Interesting how these magnificent old buildings survive! And very nicely captured in your images. So many places that could be visited!
Steve; Thanks for the visit and kind words. The weather changing, and it’s sure nice to get out and get some good sunlight, and you know photogs just love good sunlight. lol
