The Political Red Cardinal
I have always loved the red cardinal, is a symbol of many things, including:
Hope and love
A cardinal’s presence can represent a message of hope, love, or spiritual connection.
A loved one’s spirit
Some believe that seeing a cardinal is a sign that a loved one who has passed away is near.
Good luck and abundance
In many cultures, the red color of cardinals symbolizes good luck and abundance.
Renewal
Cardinals can represent renewal, transformation, and manifestation.
Romance
Cardinals are often associated with romance, and some believe that seeing a cardinal means romance is coming.
A reminder to honor your partner
If you are in a relationship and see a cardinal, it can be a reminder to honor your partner.
A bright spot of color in the winter
Cardinals are a symbol of hope and joy, especially around Christmas.
A message from the subconscious
Cardinals in dreams can symbolize messages from the subconscious and spiritual realms.
The Cardinal was chosen as the state bird for these seven states: Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia. According to the Illinois State Museum, In 1928 an election was held between five birds for the honor of being named “State Bird of Illinois”. The Macomb Branch of the National Federation of Professional Women’s Clubs arranged for schoolchildren in Illinois to place votes on five of the most commonly seen birds in their area. The Cardinal won with 39,226 votes, was 8,920 votes more than the number his rival, the Bluebird, received. The Bluebird was honorable enough to concede the election and not ask for a re-count.

Feeling safe and sound.
