Landscape Photograph Pinelands, NJ
6-2-2025 I went back to hike my favorite Pinelands location, Franklin Parker Preserve, and here’s a new photograph.
Yes, Franklin Parker Preserve is considered a beautiful and serene destination, especially for nature enthusiasts and hikers. Located in the heart of New Jersey’s Pine Barrens, it offers a diverse landscape featuring cranberry bogs, blueberry fields, cedar swamps, and pine forests. The preserve spans over 11,000 acres and provides habitat for various wildlife, including rare and endangered species like bobcats and bald eagles.
Trail Highlights:
Red Trail: Approximately 6 miles, this trail offers a scenic loop through cranberry bogs and pine barrens. Hikers have noted its well-marked paths and features like small bridges and giant Adirondack chairs for resting.
Green Trail: A 6.7-mile loop that provides open views of water areas and old cranberry bogs. While some find it less shaded, it’s appreciated for its peacefulness and wildlife sightings.
Yellow and Blue Trails: A shorter 2.9-mile loop offering stunning waterfront views, especially around the Bald Eagle Reservoir. It’s a popular choice for those seeking a gentle hike with beautiful scenery.
Visitor Tips:
Wildlife: The preserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including turtles, birds, and occasionally snakes. Birdwatchers often spot species like barred owls and bald eagles.
Trail Conditions: Trails are generally flat and sandy, making for easy hikes. However, some areas can be buggy, especially in warmer months, so insect repellent is recommended.
Amenities: There are portable toilets near parking areas, but it’s advisable to bring your own water and snacks. The preserve has two main entrances with free parking available.
Seasonal Considerations: Fall is a particularly beautiful time to visit, with vibrant foliage and fewer bugs. However, some trails may be closed during hunting seasons, so it’s best to check ahead.

Beautiful Cloud Play
Here’s some new fine art landscape photos from one of my most favorite places in the pines, Franklin Parker Preserve. I like the quiet feeling that the places gives me and combined with a well need to hike to help my troubled stomach.
