Ultimately, an automobile is designed for movement, speed and performance. By shooting it in motion, the automotive photographer captures the car doing what it was created to do. The photographer may use driving shots, panning shots for blur or a number of other techniques to achieve movement in their stills.

The story of this update was that when I removed the NexGen Plugin, I lost all my image connections. Google doesn’t link broken images, so I’m fixing them one by one.
I’m running a little behind on my posts, and this might be more of the norm as I try and achieve balance in my life.
Because hot rods represent an image to our selves which creates a powerful connection to the 60’s-70’s where love and peace were present, we find ourselves longing and being drawn back into to that era, at least I do. I found these automobiles on a Saturday walk in Riverside, the owner was happy to let me photograph all of his wonderful collection. He had a great collection of automobiles from the 50-60’s, very nice gentleman.
Three deuces, or 3 x 2’s or 3 three two barrel carburetors.
I love the pin stripping of the 60s, WOW, we all wanted our cars to be different and express are selves, now we just don’t give a damn! Back then we never wanted to meet our selves driving down the road, funny !

You can easily spot Ford’s Garage from the antique Ford often parked out front. It’s also usually distinguishable by the large crowds perched at the outdoor tables and milling about the sidewalk. This craft burger joint serves it’s creative combos until 1:30 on the weekends and stays open later than most spots during the week. It’s also popular with beer lovers, serving more than 100 on tap and by the bottler. The decor is unique and impressive, with an old Model T hanging above the bar, well-placed gas pumps and other items fitting the vintage automotive theme by day, speakeasy by night theme.

This week’s First Friday Challenge is vehicles. I dusted off this old .jpg of a Duesenberg automobile from Charleston, South Carolina. Enjoy the image and let it take you back to the old days, when life was simpler.
I love Charleston, SC and can’t wait to go back with my Wife and daughter.

I was feeling in a jun-key mood after battling my host for days, I’m not sure who is wining the war, but I’m sure feeling tired and low.
The images reflect my mood at the moment.
I still have a place in my heart for automobiles at junkyards, I guess because I spent lots of days at the yards in my teenage yards getting parts for my cars.
I was a DIY-er in those days. Some day I’ll write about all the experiences.

This has been behind a neighbor’s house as long as I can remember, I’m not sure what kind of collector he is but he’s sure got an interesting collection of junk.
Update this Mercedes-Benz truck has long gone, I guess someone bought it. It sat there for many years at the end of my street, now when I go there, I look for it, but it’s gone, but not forgotten.
