The New Jersey Pine Lands
The Pine Barrens, also known as the Pinelands or simply the Pines, is a heavily forested area of coastal plain stretching across more than seven counties of New Jersey. The name “pine barrens” refers to the area’s of sandy, acidic, nutrient-poor soil #pinelands.
I really enjoy hiking the Pine lands and got my inspiration from Tom Brown’s book “The Tracker”
Tom’s Brown’s story is an amazing read, and I find my self lost in the trail that Tom must have hiked. Tom was taught by his Apache grandfather on how to track animals and survive in the Pine Barren wildness.
The photos I have shared in this gallery are from my hikes in the Pine lands Preservation region of New Jersey. #pinelands
