Last week I stumbled upon this location in a bad light situation, seeing it was for a scouting trip it was no problem, so the challenge is to tell me where this is located. Here’s a tip, it is in Last week I stumbled upon this location in a bad light situation, seeing it was for a scouting trip it was no problem, so the challenge is to tell me where this is located. Here’s a tip, it is in Roebling, New Jersey.
Additional information is that the location is in Roebling, New Jersey. Roebling is a small town located in Burlington County, in the southern part of the state. It was founded in the late 1800s by the Roebling family, who were industrialists and built the famous Brooklyn Bridge. Today, Roebling is a quiet residential community with a historic district that includes the former Roebling Steel Company and worker housing. It is possible that the scouting trip was related to the town’s history or architecture.
My challenge is to do a better composition of this location.
These are for you, Ralph !
Roebling, site of the Roebling Steel Mill, was founded by Charles Roebling, son of John A. Roebling. John A. Roebling & Sons company built and provided the steel for the Brooklyn Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as numerous other bridges including one overNiagara Falls.
The steel mill was also responsible for the production of the elevator cables for the Empire State Building in New York City, the Chicago Board of Trade Building in Chicago and theWashington Monument in Washington, D.C. John A. Roebling & Sons company made the wire for the original slinky as well.

Hmmmm, being on the Delaware river and not being in a mining area – I’m thinking the equipment was for “break bulk” transitioning from train to ship or vice versa – for the movement of goods of some sort – likely heavy goods.
Good photos, by the way. I have an affinity for heavy equipment and rail and things like that. Nicely done.
Hello Bill, thanks for the very nice comments, always a pleasure to hear from such a great artist – photographer. I’m re-posting from over 10 years ago, old processing and using ChatGPT AI when I can get access. Ah, the rest story is all about the Brooklyn Bridge. This steel mill was where all the steel was fabricated and freighted to build the Brooklyn Bridge. Amazing story, here’s a The Amazing Story of the Brooklyn Bridge, an NYC Landmark.
The photos are interesting, but the text is pretty odd. AI, perhaps? Reads a bit like a conversation with the machine. The first sentence is repeated.
The text was from Wikipedia. I am starting to use ChatGPT on the text, but in this case I didn’t. ChatGPT has been over loaded and I have not been able to have access for free.
